Rules for the Forex Forum Forecast

Here are the rules of the forex forum forecast.

The types of forecasts:

Weekly Forex Forum Forecast - Each week you will be presented with a poll. The question will go something like this:

What will the gbp/usd do next week?

- go up

- go down

- sideways

Besides weekly, there will be monthly and maybe even quarterly and yearly forecasts. The questions will go something like this.

What will euro do next month?

Also occasionally I may take non-standard polls. Examples of that:

Will the pound close above 2 during the first half of 2007?

Or

Will Japan raise interest rates on their next meeting?

The pairs:

The pairs included in this forex forum forecast will generally be the majors, althought sometimes there maybe some exotics. Generally the poll will be concentraded on these pairs:

Eur/usd, Gbp/usd, Usd/jpy, Eur/jpy, Gbp/jpy, Aud/usd, Nzd/usd, Usd/cad, Gold

For the weekly forecast thought, the pairs polled will be as follows:

Eur/usd, Gbp/usd, Usd/jpy, Eur/jpy, Gbp/jpy, Aud/usd, Usd/cad

Depending on the interest for the pairs, we can include or exclude certain pairs. You’re all more then welcomed to suggest which pairs you want in or out of this poll.

The rules of the Forex Forum Forecast:

- every person can vote once and only once

- you can also vote on my Forex Forum Forecast Blog that I’ve put up for this

Specific Rules: The polls / forecasts will be closed before the event happens.

Happy trading everyone!

Forex Forum Forecast - made by forex forum traders

Hi fellow traders. Recently I noticed again one of the big banks forecasts blew up in smoke. I don’t want to comment on the bank because that’s not really the point. The point is the banks or big institutions forecasts are wrong just as often as they are right, maybe even more.

One might ask why is that? One possible answer is they may be are suckering the public into the wrong position. Most of us who have been around for a while have noticed how sometimes when the market is most bullish and everyone on TV is talking about buying, the market “suddenly” starts to fall or retrace and slams on the public.

Another possible answer is that THEY (and by they I mean the big financial institutions and big banks) don’t really know the market as much as we think they do. So just like us, they are making the best guess possible. I believe this is the more probable answer, and although sometimes the public gets suckered, that happens relatively rarely.

So all these big financial giants can make mistakes so many times and we still believe that THEY somehow posses superior knowledge and research?

I for one believe in the small or retail trader and that’s why I’m putting together this forex forum forecast poll.

Another reason I make this forex forum forecast is the HUGE respect I have for this forum and similar places like it. I’ve learned a lot here and continue to do so very day. I really believe this forum and other places like it are visited by exceptional traders.

Don’t look at this poll as a way to match against the big boys, instead look at it as a test of the small or retail traders knowledge and ability. I really have no idea what results will come from this test. I’m hoping to see that the little guys, retail traders, or better said the visitors of this forum can trade and forecast just as good as the big boys.

I will not trade or invest any of my own money based on this poll and neither should you. This is not and should not be considered as investment advice. This is not a signal service, this is just a poll taken from the visitors of this forum.

I hope I will have you support in this experiment. Remember this is a poll made by you, forex forum traders, so all suggestions are more then welcomed. I will post the rules for this forex forum forecast soon, then we can all get on with the forecasting.

Great trading to all.
